Whew, I think I got out of the stupidly expensive destination wedding. Well, I tried at least by sending an email that we still can't commit when I don't have a job. Hopefully that will stop the nagging.
Meanwhile, the weddings keep pouring in! In 2010, we have weddings in Miami, London, and Vegas. These happen to be awesome places that I would love to vacation anyway. They are also places that are actually meaningful to the people getting married, well, except Vegas, but that's a whole other tradition.
Anyway.
That pretty much settles our travel for next year. It takes time and money, and well, we're done with our vaca days and travel budget with that many heavy travel weddings. That said, I bet we can even go to London for less than that stupidly expensive Caribbean destination wedding.
We're so old that I thought our friends were done, I guess I was wrong. I guess when you're around 30, your wedding gets even bigger! We're also hitting the first round of divorces the same time as the next round of weddings!

I saw an episode on a bride who did a destination wedding in Mexico and i laughed my ass off.. thinking of you vs that Bridezilla.
This bride also held a reception in their home town so.. it wasn't like everyone couldn't attend in some way. :)
"We're also hitting the first round of divorces the same time as the next round of weddings!"
HAHA TOO FUNNY!!
Yep! I remember, years ago, bemoaning my single state and saying that "all the good men are already taken," but my more socially savvy friend told me to give it ten years and "they'll all come 'round again!"
Too true!
Sigh. Second time's the charm (I hope).
I was saying: My bank account hurts just READING your wedding schedule.
And you can definitely go to London for less than the Bridezilla's package price. (You probably know this already but most airlines will send you deals on specific destinations as sales come up. You just sign up for "London" and get notified of good deals.)
The real question, though, remains how you'll keep Bridezilla from finding out if you do travel while unemployed.
Secondary question: What if you do get a job in the near future? What will your excuse be then? (I guess you could go with a) catching up with bills or b) can't take a vacation that time of year because the company will be busy.)
It totally happens! A lot of the people whose wedding I went to at 22, are now divorced on marriage #2.
I'm 30!
You are never 'done.'
Next come the baby showers and when those tail off, the graduations.
I awarded you for having such a great blog. Thanks!
