I still seem to see it on Facebook, every day. I mean, Dow hit 10,000. Recession is over, right?
Every day, somebody posts their lay-off or begs for job leads or something. Today, a dear friend with a job an awful lot like my old job fell. Ouch.
I felt so bad for him. It was like reliving my lay-off again. I could feel the sting again. It had been a while since I thought about that pain/humiliation/fear/depression.
Today, I was little more happy for my thankless, emotionally draining non-profit job.

what is the relationship between the dow hitting 10,000 and the recession being over? i'm not sure i understand how the dow would signal an end to the recession. heck the dow changes if fed chair sneezes.
There seem to be more lay-offs than ever right now. I know a few people who have lost their jobs this month and it's so totally depressing. It makes me happy I work from home and for myself!
Low paying is not the same as "thankless".
